It is just a primer. You will need a topcoat to provide maximum protection.

  2. Question

    Brian

Can I use PBE Filler Primer on spot areas before painting a car? I have Upol 2253 High Build on most of the car and was going to use this as a touch up prime. I going to paint a Low VOC Acrylic Urethane over top of this and want to make sure there is no reaction to the top finish coat, being it looks like a Lacquer product.

    • Answer

If the acrylic urethane is water based, I’m not certain it would be compatible with the primer. I would test it first on a piece of scrap, with the primer fully cured. If there’s an adverse reaction, you’ll see it right away.

There is no recoat window. Depending on how thick it was applied and the drying conditions, you can usually topcoat in an hour.
