Henry Marchesani –
Is this ok for use on a pot metal front grill or would you suggest another product?

Yes, Alumi-Blast would be a good fit. I would also recommend Seymour Chrome FX, 16-1034. Chrome FX will give you a chrome-like, aluminum finish.

Question
kevin –
I am looking to use ALUMI BLAST #CA16-055 to paint an aluminum engine that I am rebuilding. What is the recommended surface preparation instructions?
I read on the internet there are several ways to go about this.
1. Use a degreaser and clean dirt and grime off. Then use acetone to clean and etch the aluminum. Then use self etching primer. Finally use Alumi Blast for final top coat.
2. Use a degreaser and clean dirt and grime off. Then use alumi prep 33 to clean aluminum and remove oxidation. Then use alodine 1201 to convert the surface and make ready for primer. Then use epoxy primer. Then top coat.
Can you give a recommendation on how I should prepare the engine block for paint?

Itâs not a durable as powder coating. You can use it on PRIMED aluminum railings. Itâs also recommended to clear coat over the alumi blast to help resist the corrosive effects of the oils in our hands. 16-121 clear is a good choice.
