Seymour Duramix™ Black Heavy-Bodied Seam Sealer is a high-viscosity, direct-to-metal seam sealer designed for sealing horizontal and vertical voids, joints, and seams in automotive repair and restoration work.

Need to match an OEM seam without wasting time? Our heavy-bodied formula offers great bead control, stays where you put it on vertical and horizontal surfaces, and tools easily. It’s especially useful when duplicating OEM beads and textures on door skins, hoods, trunks, and more.

This 2K seam sealer can easily replicate beads using tape or a door skin nozzle. It can also be used as a sprayable seam sealer with the proper Duramix™ equipment and setup. You get more control over the final product and a better match to OEM seam sealer patterns.

OEM Bead Duplication

Duramix™ Black Heavy-Bodied Seam Sealer is ideal for duplicating ripple beads and tooled seam sealer beads on both vertical and horizontal surfaces. It’s formulated to stay where it’s applied, hold tooling marks, and deliver an OEM appearance after finishing.

For optimal results and alignment with OEM repair procedures, prime bare metal and aluminum with a 2K epoxy primer before applying Duramix™ Black Heavy-Bodied Seam Sealer.

Common Repair Applications

Duramix™ Heavy-Bodied Seam Sealer is commonly used for sealing horizontal and vertical voids, metal joints, and other areas where OEM bead and texture duplication or ripple bead and tooled seam sealer repairs are required, including:

Application Notes

• If the seam sealer dries for more than 8 hours, scuff before priming or painting.
• Do not use directly over acid-etch primer or apply etch primer over the seam sealer.
• Always test primer or topcoat compatibility before finishing.
