Seymour Textured Black Wrinkle Spray Paint Product Details
At Seymour Paint, we make coatings that last. Our focus is always on quality, value, and convenience, and our Textured Black Wrinkle Finish Spray Paint follows suit. Engineered for performance and durability, this Black wrinkle finish paint is perfect for automotive restoration and then some.
Reproduce the original factory finish on car and truck parts, upgrade roll bars, or add grip to tool handles. Whatever the project, our wrinkle paint creates a tough, textured Black coating that resists gas, heat, rust, fading, corrosion, and chipping.
Need a rugged finish upgrade? Seymour Black Wrinkle Texture Spray Paint delivers durability and style in the convenience of an aerosol can.
Durable Black Wrinkle Spray Paint with Superior Resistance!
Seymour Black Wrinkle Paint gives you a classic textured finish that’s as functional as it is easy on the eyes. Automotive environments are harsh, and this wrinkle finish coating is built for it.
Black Wrinkle is resistant to:
- Gasoline
- Automotive fluids
- Heat up to 250°F
- Rust & corrosion
- Fading & abrasion
Once fully cured, the finish won’t crack, peel, or chip under the toughest conditions.
Excellent Hiding & Versatility
Excellent hiding qualities help disguise minor surface imperfections for a uniform result. Use it to reproduce original factory finishes on dashboards and valve covers, ruggedize roll bars and bumpers, add tactile grip to tool handles, and more.
Seymour Textured Black Wrinkle Spray Paint can be used where conventional paints fail. Heat cycles, fuel and oil, and constant handling cause ordinary paints to soften, blister, and peel, but our coating stays strong.
Easy & Convenient Wrinkle Texture Paint for Metal, Vinyl, Plastic & More
No mixing or special equipment needed. Shake well and apply two medium coats 3 minutes apart. It dries to the touch in roughly 30 minutes, but allow 8 hours for the wrinkle pattern to fully develop into a uniform, textured, low-sheen finish.
We invented aerosol paint in 1949. Since then, our goal’s been simple: top-notch performance with ease. Application is fast and even, giving you a smooth, consistent texture with less effort.
Use direct to metal on clean, bare surfaces free of rust, oil, and other contaminants. Prime first with Seymour PBE Black Sandable Primer for best results, especially on wood and hard plastics.

Tony –
Would this work on a harley engine

Answer
Seymour Paint –
Probably not, black wrinkle goes to 250F continuously. I would think the engine might get hotter than that. Please contact our technical support for more information. 815-895-9101

If the surface is clean and free of rust or contaminants, then you do not need a primer. That said, itâs a good idea, especially on wood or hard plastics.

Question
Eric –
Can the paint be reapplied if the first attempt didn’t wrinkle throughout? I applied 16-2448 Black Wrinkle to freshly glass bead blasted aluminum valve cover. I sprayed the first coat on the heavy side, then waited 3 minutes for the second coat. I may have not applied as much as needed since I was worries about runs, the finish didn’t wrinkle at all in some spots. Question, can I simply respray the two coats on top of the existing wrinkle, or do I need to strip it back to bare metal and try again? Thanks

Answer
Seymour Paint –
If the first attempt didnât work, itâs best to strip the paint and start from scratch. Two medium coats 3 minutes apart at 70 degrees is recommended.

While it meets the heat requirements, however, would think the texture will allow brake dust/mud/etc. to collect.

Cary Newman –
Does the wrinkle paint require a primer before being applied on vinyl or bondo?
Upvote if this was helpful (0) Downvote if this was not helpful (0) Flag for removal
Answer
Seymour Paint –
No primer for vinyl (but you would want to scuff that surface to improve adhesion). For Bondo, Iâd recommend our PBE sandable primers.

It has a 250F heat resistance so it would hold up well by itself. It shouldnât be top coated by anything.

Question
Zach –
What should I do and how do I proceed. I prepared my parts surface cleaned and degrease as I’ve done with a lot of parts. I shook the can plenty applied the first coat. Waited the appropriate time and applied the second coat. I let the product sit indoors where it didn’t get below 70 ish degrees. And only some spots wrinkled. The rest is a semi gloss smooth finish.
