Seymour Duramix™ Door Skin & SMC Adhesive Product Details

Seymour Duramix™ Door Skin & SMC Adhesive is an automotive door skin adhesive made for non-structural panel attachment in professional collision repair. It’s a 2K epoxy that quickly bonds steel, aluminum, fiberglass, FRP, and SMC, making it an excellent choice for door skin replacement, SMC panel bonding, and composite panel installation.

Our epoxy adhesive bonds and seals in one step, creating a high-strength bond while helping protect the repair from corrosion. You get 45 to 60 minutes of working time for careful positioning, alignment, and clamping. And it’s sandable and paintable in 60 minutes.

Non-Structural Panel Adhesive Applications

Duramix™ Door Skin & SMC Adhesive is formulated for non-structural automotive panel bonding on properly prepared metal and composite substrates. Use it for the following applications:

• Door skin replacement
• SMC, fiberglass, and FRP panel bonding
• Aluminum, steel, and composite panel attachment
• General non-structural collision repair panel bonding

This product is not for use on structural applications. Always follow applicable OEM repair procedures and manufacturer recommendations.

Application Notes

• For professional use only.
• Tool any squeezed-out adhesive with a plastic spreader to fill gaps, voids, and seams. That’s where this product really earns its keep: it bonds the panel and helps seal the seam in the same step.
• Can be used in lower temperatures for panel bonding applications, but clamp time and cure time may increase below 72°F.
• Can be used with MIG welding or STRSW while the adhesive is still within the stated work time. Keep MIG welding at least two inches from the adhesive and follow all welding safety precautions.
• When replacing door skins, Duramix™ NVH Dampening Material can be used to replace the OEM dampening material (foam) found between the panels and the intrusion beams.
• Always follow applicable OEM repair procedures and manufacturer recommendations.
• Refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) and product label for safe use and handling instructions.
