  2. Question

    Mary Ross

Would Seymour metalic spray be suitable for a hot water radiator in a heritage home. Originally (1926) it would have been a gold/brass colour. Many coats of paint over the years.

Yes, Seymour’s metallic gold is high resistant up to 250°F. Most home radiators do not exceed 215°F.

    • Answer

You may apply our engine enamels with and without primer. If you choose not to use a primer, it’s important that the surface be clean bare metal. We recommend one very light coat followed by a second (and maybe a third) regular coat at 10 minute intervals. Give it 3-7 days to fully cure before returning to service.
