Topcoat & Primer Options
A clear topcoat is recommended for maximum performance:
- Seymour Hi-Tech Lacquer–Gloss Clear Acrylic enhances depth of image
- Seymour Hi-Tech Engine Enamel–Gloss Clear improves solvent/gasoline resistance
If priming, we recommend:
- Seymour Zinc Phosphate Primer Coating–Green or Yellow, especially on aluminum substrates
- Seymour PBE Self-Etch Primer–Gray on grilles
For applications above 250°F (e.g., exhaust components), use Seymour Hot Spot Hi-Heat-Resistant Spray Paint–Aluminum (resistant to 1200°F) instead of Extreme FX Chrome Spray Paint.
