Yes, you should prime first with 20-1681 self-etch primer. The aluminum paint has a satin sort of sheen.

Most leafing metallic silvers don’t really have gloss that you can measure, but this one and the CA16-55 I would consider satin or low luster.

With aluminum you have to use an etching primer. 20-1682 is our etching primer part number. After that, you can topcoat with any spray paint color of your choice.
