Yes, it would work (no primer necessary if youâre scuffing the ceramic coating). That said, this paint wonât be as hard and scratch resistant as a 2 component epoxy or urethane but those are rather expensive. Kind of a tradeoff you could say.

Do you have a clear coat to apply over paint ?
Upvote if this was helpful (0) Downvote if this was not helpful (0) Flag for removal
Answer
Seymour Paint –
The 620-1436 should not need a clear coat. The 620-1436 is an enamel spray paint. If you would like to clear coat the 620-1436, would recommend the EN-70 which is also an enamel. Please be very careful in applying the clear coat make sure that you have allowed several days for curing before clear coating so the 620-1436 does not wrinkle. Again, you should not have to clear coat the 620-1436.

Jackson –
I see that both the MRO and engine enamel are heat resistant to 300F, gas, oil and chemical resistant. Is there a specific reason the engine enamel would be better for painting a motorcycle engine? Would It be detrimental to painting an engine with MRO? I like the color options better with the MRO, that’s why I ask. Thanks for the help!

MRO and HiTech have similar performance characteristics, so you canât go wrong with either on a block. However, MRO will not run, or sag and it has excellent single coat hiding.

Question
Ricky –
Never used your product. I run a transmission shop we rebuild transmissions stock, performance and off road. I need a paint that is very durable and wont scratch off while installing it into vehicles and last through punishment. Rustoleum and Krylon just doesn’t hold up like I want. Will yours? and what do you recommend I go with 620-1411 Seymour MRO Industrial High-Solids Spray Paint, Aluminum or 620-1436 Seymour MRO Industrial High-Solids Spray Paint ?
Thanks.

Answer

Definitely go with the 620-1436 as the first choice. If you need a silver/aluminum, EN-71 dull aluminum would be the most durable choice.

Would instead use CA16-55 Alumi Blast for the underbody and 16-1034 chrome for the dash components.

Might be a dumb question but I can’t seem to find the answer, but is it available in a can to be rolled or sprayed on a wall? I’ve been looking for a product to give a super glossy finish on interior walls (drywall, etc). Thank you!
